
Part 1 – Reclaiming Curiosity to Reduce Anxiety
A few weeks ago, a friend shared her personal challenge: to try something new each month. As she recounted the experiences she had pursued so far this year, the conversation stirred admiration—and also a deeper reflection.
Newness, after all, doesn’t always need to be scheduled. Often, it shows up unannounced and can induce anxiety and feel vulnerable.
For some, it comes through midlife shifts—returning to school, starting a new path, or navigating change. For others, it may be parenting, which evolves daily. Or perhaps it emerges through creative practice, where exploration is part of the process.
Maybe it’s simply life itself—constantly inviting us to stretch beyond what we already know.
Seen this way, new beginnings are not disruptions, but invitations—ongoing opportunities to meet ourselves in unfamiliar terrain.
Being a beginner doesn’t mean going backward. It means stepping forward with humility, curiosity, and courage.
