Reclaiming Curiosity and Growth

A few weeks ago, I was having dinner with friends when one of them shared her personal challenge: to try something new each month. As she recounted the experiences she had pursued so far this year, I felt admiration rise—and then something else.

I realized: I’ve been living life differently.
For me, newness doesn’t need to be scheduled. It shows up unannounced.

Maybe it’s because I’m an artist and newness is part of my practice. Maybe it’s parenting, which evolves daily. Maybe it’s the midlife shift I experienced—returning to school, pursuing a new path, starting again.

Or maybe, it’s just life.
One that constantly invites me to stretch beyond what I already know.

I’ve come to see this pattern not as disruption, but as invitation—an ongoing opportunity to meet myself in unfamiliar terrain.

Being a beginner doesn’t mean going backward. It means stepping forward with humility, curiosity, and courage.

Part 2 explores what it means to be a true beginner—and how that changes everything.
